Students will create a booklet that shows important symbols of their community and the people who help make the community a safe and happy place. Each page will represent a different part of community life—such as symbols, holidays, songs, and community helpers. Students will draw pictures and, with support, label or dictate what each page represents.
This activity helps students understand that communities are built on shared rules, symbols, and people who work together to solve problems.
